A Message from Principal Miller

Dear Eagle Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Anderson Island Elementary!

As I begin my fourth year as principal, I continue to be grateful for the opportunity to serve this incredible school community. Each year, I am reminded that Anderson Island Elementary is more than just a school—it is a family. Together, our staff, students, families, and community partners have created a place where every child is known, valued, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

This year's theme continues to be Anchored in Excellence. Just as an anchor provides strength and stability, our commitment to excellence keeps us grounded in what matters most: providing every student with a safe, engaging, and inspiring place to learn and grow. Excellence isn't about perfection; it's about showing up with purpose, working hard, embracing challenges, and continually striving to improve. Those are the values that anchor our work and guide everything we do.

One of the things that makes Anderson Island Elementary truly unique is the partnership we share with our families and the broader island community. Your support, involvement, and belief in our students make an incredible difference. From our Outdoor Classroom and community partnerships to the traditions that bring us together throughout the year, our students benefit from learning experiences that extend far beyond the walls of our school.

This year, we will continue to focus on creating engaging learning opportunities that challenge students academically while supporting their social and emotional growth. We will celebrate each student's unique strengths, foster curiosity, encourage kindness, and help every Eagle develop the confidence to take on new challenges.

Strong communication and regular attendance remain essential to student success. I encourage you to stay connected, ask questions, share ideas, volunteer when you can, and celebrate alongside us as our students learn, grow, and achieve great things throughout the year.

Anderson Island Elementary is a special place because of its people. Together, our students, families, staff, and community create a school where everyone belongs.

I know the 2026–2027 school year will bring even stronger connections, excellence in our classrooms, opportunities to support one another, and plenty of fun along the way. I'm excited to be part of the journey and can't wait to see what our Eagles accomplish together.
